DeminNo® is the innovative impact whirl mill used for the production of very fine powders and the homogenization of sticky and middle hard materials, up to Mohs hardness 7. The impact elements of the vertical shaft rotor and stator are very easily adaptable to product or process requirements. The system outperforms in the homogenization of raw material blends, by utilizing a combination of impact, shear and frictional forces. Grinding capacities range from 50 kg/h up to 14,400 tons a year.
WORKING PRINCIPLE MILLING / HOMOGENIZATION
The feed material must be dispensed in doses into the DemiNo® through a safety sieve or hopper outlined with permanent magnets. Special elements on top of the rotor ensure that the material is evenly distributed into the grinding track between the impact elements of stator and rotor. Particle size reduction and deagglomeration are achieved by the intelligent combination of shear, attrition and impact forces which work on the product flowing in turbulent air through the milling gap.
The milled and homogenized material exits the machine horizontally through a centrically positioned opening beneath the rotor. Product requirements such as particle size can be optimized by adjusting rotational speed, milling gap width, product throughput, air throughput, and impact elements used.
Due to their innovative design without screw fixation, the impact elements of rotor and stator can be changed very easily by hand, requiring no special tools. This also allows the use of ceramic impact elements which are easy and cost-efficient to produce.
Through its modular construction and flexible element change, DemiNo® is quickly adaptable to product or process requirements and easily tailored to the individual, specific needs of a project. The rotor can be operated both clockwise and counterclockwise, reducing and distributing wear on both sides of the impact elements and increasing service life.
